Klaus
What is his motivation?
He is trying to walk home
-he is young and does not at first, realise the danger he is in.
He is naive. Oblivious to the danger of walking home in the dark, this non-chalant attitude suggests this is routine.
There is a moment when the atmosphere, feel and motivation changes.
This happens when Klaus becomes aware. This is the intrinsic moment.
Motivation now is to reach the gate at the end of the graveyard (this is now a symbol of sanctuary to Klaus)
His actions are also motivated by a want to reassure himself, he turns around each time in hope of seeing that the thing which is following him is not a threat and to relief his paranoia.
